Student Administration System (Part 2)

The Student Administration System is UConn’s online registration system. In addition to enrolling in classes, you can access your registration appointment time, view the course catalog, search for classes, view your class schedule, advisor information, grades, unofficial transcript, charges and payments, financial aid information, and change your personal information. Other useful tools include the Schedule Builder, Academic Requirements Report, Academic Planner, and Preliminary Plan of Study.

  1. Access students.uconn.edu
  2. Locate the Student Tools box in the upper left and click the Student Administration link. The SA System landing page displays.
  3. On the left side, click the NetID login button. The NetID Single Sign-On page displays.
  4. Enter your NetID and NetID password.
  5. Click the Login button.

Note: The NetID is provided by University Information Technology Services (UITS). If you do not know your NetID or password, click the ‘Don’t know your NetID?’ or ‘Lost your Password?’ links, or contact the Help Center number listed below.

Under FERPA, students have the right to share or restrict* access to their records.  When you click Self-Service and then Student Center, a one-time page pops up and prompts you to complete the FERPA Privacy Waiver. This waiver enables you to grant specific individuals (including parents, guardians, spouses and employers) the ability to discuss your records with specific University offices. Also, at the start of every semester, one or more pages pop up to collect your contact information (cell phone, local address, emergency and missing person contacts). Enter, verify and/or update your information on each page, and then proceed to the Student Center page. *For more information on placing a FERPA restriction on your records, please contact the Office of the Registrar (860-486-3331, Mon-Fri, 8-5; registrar@uconn.edu).

If the FERPA waiver does not pop up, you may have already completed it, or you may not have submitted all your enrollment requirements (such as deposit payment). It may also take up to 24 hours after you make your payment for the FERPA waiver information to appear.
To check FERPA at any time, enter FERPA into the search box once you have logged in to your Student Administration system account, and click the appropriate search result.
You may also navigate by using Main Menu > Self-Service > Student Center > Personal Information. Select from the visible choices; if FERPA is not visible, select the ‘other personal…’ dropdown option and then select FERPA from those choices.

The Course Catalog displays all courses the University offers and includes course requisites. You must search the course catalog alphabetically by Subject.

  1. Click Self Service > Student Center.
  2. Click the Search link.
  3. In the top right of the page, click the browse course catalog tab.
  4. Click the COLLAPSE ALL button if the subjects are expanded.
  5. Click the letter ‘M‘ at the top of the page.
  6. Click MATH – Mathematics.
  7. Scroll to MATH 1131Q, click the Course Title and read the Description.
  8. From the *Campus drop-down field, select the Campus you will be attending.
  9. Click the view class sections button.
  10. Under the Course Schedule header, set the Terms Offered drop-down arrow to the upcoming term for which you will be enrolling in classes.
  11. Click the show sections button.
  12. Important! To view all the sections of the course for this term, you may need to click the View All link at the bottom of the page.
  13. To view different subjects in the Course Catalog, click the Return to Browse Course Catalog link at the top or bottom of the page.

Search for open sections of MATH 1131Q on your campus for the upcoming semester.

  1. Click Self Service > Student Center.
  2. On the right side of the page, click the SEARCH FOR CLASSES button. Note: The Schedule of Classes displays the classes offered in a specific term and includes class times, location and instructor information.
  3. From the Term drop-down list, select the upcoming Term for which you will be enrolling in classes.
  4. From the Course Subject drop-down list, select MATH – Mathematics.
  5. In the Course Number field, type 1131Q.
  6. Verify that the Open Classes Only check box is selected.
  7. From the Campus drop-down list, select your Campus. Note: To do a class search, you must select at least two criteria, one of which must be Campus.
  8. Click the Search button.
  9. Click the OK button if asked if you would like to continue. A list of open sections of Math 1131Q displays.
  10. Important! If not all the sections are displaying, click the View All Sections link.
  11. To view details about a particular section of the class, including available seats, click the Section number link in parenthesis.
  12. To return to your Class Search Results, click the View Search Results button at the top or bottom of the page.
  13. To complete a different class search, click the NEW SEARCH button at the top or bottom of the page.
  14. To exit the Student Administration System, click Sign Out in the upper right section of the page.

Use multiple search criteria to display classes offered in a condensed format. Note: you cannot register for classes from Dynamic Class Search, only view real-time class availability.

  1. From your Student Center, click Dynamic Class Search.
  2. Select the Term you will be registering for.
  3. Select your Campus.
  4. From the Subject drop-down field, select MATH.
  5. In the Catalog field, enter 1131Q.
  6. Click the Search button.
